Plagiarism the unlawful misuse, close duplication, or production, of a different writer's words, opinions, views, or terminologies, and the illustration of such work as one's own creative work.

It's completely unethical and remains a problem because it does not acknowledge nor give credit to the writer or author who wrote down the original thoughts and ideas. Plagiarism can be viewed as stealing another writer's publications and producing it as one's own work. It decreases an author's level of vital and logical thinking. In addition, good studies and research work requires a lot of proficiency for example carefully assessing sources, paraphrasing, writing relevant notes, choosing suitable quotations, and acknowledging others authors for publishing their research findings  and opinions. People who prefer to plagiarize other peoples work are very unlikely to gain such writing skills.

Plagiarism further damages the entire concept of intellectual integrity which forms the foundation of our education system. Several ways can be used to avoid plagiarism such as always writing down sources appropriately including, End notes and Footnotes as well as stating all the References used, works cited, on the final page of the essay.
