In addition, intrinsic motivation is enhanced by a factor like control, recognition, cooperation, challenge, trust and enjoyment at work. On the contrary, extrinsic motivation is enhanced by factors such as praises, awards, money, threats, punishment and competition.

The two types of motivation some similarities (Kettner, 2002). First, they are both based on certain needs. An individual is driven to do something by certain desires. Also, the two are based on the Maslow hierarchy of needs. There are basic ones that should be satisfied before the others.

Moreover, individuals that are both intrinsically and extrinsically There are various examples of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in an organization. Salary increments, motivational trips, awards, praises and promotions are examples of extrinsic motivation. On the other hand, love of the job, enjoyment, high achievement, responsibility, advancement, recognition and growth are examples of intrinsic motivation.
